Forty-eight women from Yorogo participated in a liquid soap-making training program aimed at enhancing their livelihoods. The initiative began with a spiritual component, where Mama Rose shared a message about faith and Madam Gladys, the Executive Director led the women in a spiritual reflection.
The training also included an open forum discussion on self-care and guidance for young girls to prevent teenage pregnancy. The discussion highlighted a generational gap, with grandmothers feeling their advice was dismissed as old-fashioned, while they, in turn, blamed parents for not adequately educating their children on these issues. The conversation concluded with an emphasis on inclusive parenting, where mothers, grandparents, and the community play vital roles in child-rearing for the benefit of society.
The liquid soap-making training was conducted in two phases:
1. Practical instruction on soap production.
2. Hands-on experience, where participants produced their own liquid soap.
The final products were distributed among the participants and the hosting Health facility, providing both economic empowerment and community support.
